Frequently Asked Questions

🟦 Is bruising normal?

A small amount of bruising is quite common after a blood draw. This occurs when a little blood seeps under the skin near the puncture site. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to consult your practice nurse.

🟦 What happens if a sample can’t be obtained?

There is no need to worry if we’re unable to get a blood sample on the first try. This can happen for various reasons, such as dehydration or recent blood tests. You may need to reattend for another try (£30 fee).

🟦 Who interprets my test results?

We’ll send your results directly to you and your healthcare provider. For a comprehensive interpretation and to discuss potential treatment options, we recommend discussing results with your GP or healthcare provider.

🟦 How much blood is taken?

The blood draw involves only a small amount of blood, typically around 8ml, or a teaspoon or two.
Remember, our team is here to address any additional questions or concerns you may have about your blood test. We’re committed to ensuring you have a comfortable and informative experience throughout the process.
